Man who killed elderly woman during robbery sentenced to 14 years

The Tel Aviv District Court on Tuesday sentenced Fares Qadumi to 14 years in prison for killing elderly woman Rachel Laor during a robbery two years ago. Qadumi was convicted last November of manslaughter, two counts of robbery and an attempted unlawful possession. There was uproar in the court after the judges announced their decision, with the deceased's son charging that the court should have tried Qadumi on more severe charges.
