Massive police raid snags crime boss Shlomi Domrani

In a massive police sting operation, hundreds of officers from the special police Lavav 433 and the National Serious and International Crimes Unit raided the home of suspected crime boss Shalom Domrani early Tuesday morning, considered by the authorities as the most wanted man in the South. Domrani and 14 of his associates were arrested in the operation, which took place in various homes in Moshav Otzem, Rishon Letzion, Ashkelon, and Bat Yam. In addition, the police also targeted a store in Ashkelon that trades in foreign currency, which they suspected was helping to fund the Domrani crime organization. Police suspect Domrani of a number of criminal activities, including money laundering. He is expected to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court later on Tuesday for a hearing on his remand.
