MK Shai: PM should hold major foreign policy speech at the Knesset

Kadmia MK Nachman Shai on Sunday blasted Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to hold an important foreign policy speech at Bar-Ilan University next week, saying that the move would damage the Knesset's status. "It's unthinkable that the prime minister intends to hold a political speech at a public forum [other than the Knesset], especially since he intends to lay out his foreign policy at this occasion," Shai wrote in a letter to Knesset Speaker MK Reuven Rivlin. "As someone who cares about the status and honor of the Knesset I ask of you to ensure that this speech will be held at the most important public arena in Israel," Shai wrote.
