Municipality to invest NIS 1m. in downtown development

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Deputy Mayor Ofer Berkowitz (Jerusalem Awakening) announced on Tuesday the infusion of NIS 1 million to further develop downtown Jerusalem’s business and cultural institutions.

The initiative is intended to create various business compounds coupling entrepreneurs with cultural activities, including the arts and tourism.

The municipality said it is investing approximately NIS 35 million this year to further develop the capital’s anemic business sector, while enhancing its cultural landscape to create more jobs and improve the city’s overall quality of life for residents and tourists.
