Pakistan blocks Facebook access for two weeks

A court order in Pakistan instructed the government to deny access to the social networking site Facebook for two weeks, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.
The action comes in response to a Facebook page soliciting users worldwide to send pictures and illustrations of the prophet Muhammad, in protest of death threats received by "South Park" animated TV series creators from a radical Muslim group for depicting the prophet on TV in a bear suit.
The protest initiative enlisted over 40,000 Facebook users supporting its cause against the threats, while an opposing page garnered 50,000 supporters.
