Palestinian arrested over suspicions he raped Israeli woman in car

Police arrested a Palestinian resident of east Jerusalem over suspicions that he raped an Israeli woman who had hitched a ride with him in the West Bank. The woman filed a police complaint, alleging that she was was raped by the man near the settlement of Bet Horon, adjacent to Modi'in, on Route 443. She was then abandoned by the roadside as the suspect fled in the direction of Jerusalem, according to the complaint. Judea and Samaria Police sent out a description of the vehicle to all police and Border police units on the ground. Officers at the Atarot checkpoint, in north Jerusalem, identified the vehicle and proceeded to arrest the suspect. The suspect was brought to the Binyamin police station for questioning.
