Palestinian terrorist, accomplice, arrested in Old City stabbing

Utilizing CCTV security footage, police tracked down and arrested a male 18-year-old Palestinian terrorist and his alleged accomplice early Tuesday morning after the former stabbed a 60-year-old Israeli man Monday night near Lion’s Gate, located in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The unidentified victim was stabbed in the upper torso shortly after 10 p.m. by the assailant, who fled the scene on foot. The Israeli man was treated on site by Magen David Adom paramedics and rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in light-to-moderate condition, said Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, adding that the knife was found nearby.
“The first terrorist, who carried out the attack and lives in the West bank, was arrested an hour and a half after police searched the Old City using CCTV footage,” he said. “His accomplice, who lives in the Old City, and is also 18, was found during the early morning hours. Both suspects were arraigned at Jerusalem magistrate’s Court Tuesday morning, where a judge ordered their remand. Monday night’s stabbing followed a relative lull of violence in the Old City amid heightened police operations in the volatile area.
