Parents protest relocation of students from Jerusalem’s Harel School

The parents of students enrolled at the Harel School in Jerusalem’s Ramot neighborhood protested in front of the school’s entrance Monday morning over a temporary move by the municipality to relocate the students to a nearby haredi school until the completion of construction.
Claiming that the move was forced due to a lack of planning, dozens of concerned parents, led by Deputy Mayor Dov Kalmanovich, said they opposed the City Council decision. “When decisions are made without the involvement of the public and its elected representatives, then you get strikes, protests and chaos,” said Kalmanovich. The students are scheduled to relocate to the ultra-Orthodox school Ohel Rachel School.
