Peres urges sides in doctors' dispute to overcome problems

While not specifically taking sides in the drawn-out doctors; dispute, President Shimon Peres has called on both parties to overcome their differences for the sake of the sick.

The sick are the most affected by the situation that has been created, Peres said during a ceremony at Beit Hanassi for outstanding workers.

He had no intention of preaching morality to either party, he said, "but the situation has become intolerable and the two parties must sit down and work out a solution for the sake of the sick and for the future of medical services in this country."
