Police arrest two men over 2008 Qalansawe murder

Police on Tuesday arrested two residents of the Arab town of Qalansawe in central Israel over a murder which took place last year. In June 2008, Yousuf Hashav, 38, was shot dead as he exited a convenience store in the town. Local residents had linked the shooting to a feud between organized crime families. In an early morning raid on Tuesday, police arrested Muand Taia Kassam, 32, and Samar Jabali, 25, both residents of Qalansawe, for the murder. Further arrests expected soon, police added.
