Police arrests 9 Arabs for attacking Israelis and officers on Jerusalem Day

Nine Arabs were arrested in the Old City Wednesday evening for throwing rocks at Jews and police passing through Damascus Gate during the Jerusalem Day Flag Parade.
According to police, shortly after the procession entered Damascus Gate, Arabs on nearby rooftops hurled stones at participants and officers. Two Israelis were lightly injured, as well as two officers, all of whom were treated at the scene, police said.
Apart from the brief episode of violence, Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld described police operations securing the city as a success.
“Border police and other units worked constantly in order to prevent disturbances, despite tension felt,” he said.
