Police: Explosives found under Afula building

Detectives found explosives and detonators stashed underneath a residential building in the Jezreel Valley city of Afula a few weeks ago, police said on Tuesday.
Northern District policed said on Tuesday that the stash included enough explosives, detonators, and shrapnel to build a large amount of weapons and “cause a large loss of life.”
Police sappers disarmed the explosives and passed them on to investigators from the national LAHAV 433 of the police, to potentially establish a link to bombs recently used in the Israeli underworld.
At the moment police have yet to arrest anyone responsible for stashing the explosives but they are pursuing a number of leads, they said Tuesday.
In other anti-organized crime news on Tuesday, police in the Southern District raided a number of local businesses in Ashkelon suspected of operating without licenses and providing a source of revenue for crime gangs. Police released to the press photos of them using sledgehammers and tractors against the businesses.
