Polish tourist gravely injured, hurts others in suspected suicide attempt

A 29-year-old Polish tourist visiting Israel jumped from a third-floor apartment window on Thursday afternoon in what police suspect was a suicide attempt.

The man, who was staying in the city of Afula, crashed into a 50-year-old woman who was on her way home, injuring her moderately. He was gravely injured, and the two were evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police have said that an investigation has been opened and that they suspect that the man attempted to commit suicide or that he abused dangerous drugs prior to jumping.
