Report: Jerusalem denies close relationship with Egyptian leaders

Israeli officials have allegedly denied reports of a close relationship between the leadership in Jerusalem and that in Cairo, Army Radio reported Sunday morning.
A New York Times report on Thursday cited an unidentified Israeli official as saying Jerusalem has been urging the US not to cut aid to Egypt.
“Anything we say will be held against us,” the official told the Times.
“If we condemn the violence we will be accused of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said, adding that, "if we say we don’t condemn it, then it looks like Israel is in cahoots with the Egyptian Army.”
