Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman refused a Syrian offer to renew indirect peace talks, China Central Television (CCTV) reported Thursday morning.
According to the major Chinese television station, the proposal was relayed to Lieberman by Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen, who had arrived in Israel this week with the Syrian message.
Verhagen recently completed a three-day visit to Syria, the Palestinian Authority and Israel, during which he spoke of a new momentum in the Palestinian-Israeli peace process which should not be lost.
