Schalit talks: July was the big breakthrough

The big breakthrough in talks on a prisoner release deal to free captured soldier Gilad Schalit came in July this year, according to information given at the cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's Office late Tuesday night.
In July, Hamas came to Israel with a document showing a new level of seriousness. From then on, six rounds of talks were held. The last round ran for 24 hours in Egypt, starting on Monday at 9 a.m., and ending on Tuesday morning.
