Second Egyptian sets himself on fire

CAIRO  — Security officials said an Egyptian man apparently inspired by events in Tunisia has set himself on fire outside the prime minister's office in central Cairo — the second such incident in the Egyptian capital in as many days.
The officials said the fire engulfing the man was quickly put out but they had no word on his identity or motives. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
Tuesday's incident comes one day after protesters in Mauritania and Algeria set themselves alight in apparent attempts to copycat the fatal self-immolation of a Tunisian man. That even helped inspire the protests that toppled Tunisia's authoritarian president.
Monday's incident in Egypt involved a man who set himself ablaze outside parliament. He survived.
