Smoking ban at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem results in dozens of fines

The Jerusalem Municipality on Tuesday announced that the recently implemented smoking ban at the capital’s Teddy Stadium is being actively enforced, resulting in NIS 34,000 worth of fines on Monday alone.
In a statement, the municipality said that 11 city inspectors issued 34 fines of NIS 1,000 each to scofflaws at a packed event at the 34,000-seat arena on Monday night.
“The Jerusalem Municipality will continue to enforce the smoking ban in public places through regular and proactive enforcement operations in various locations in the city in order to maintain the health of many citizens who do not smoke, and make this city completely free of smoking in public places,” the statement said.
