'Starving mother' to stay under house arrest until trial resumes on Friday

The Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday decided that the trial of the haredi woman suspected of starving her three-year-old son would resume on Friday. Until then, the court ruled, the mother will be kept under house arrest. On Tuesday, the state charged the woman with several counts of abusing a minor under her care. The defendant, identified as Y., is liable to get up to nine years in jail if convicted. Dan Izenberg contributed to this report
