State indicts 6 east Jerusalem residents for alleged rioting

The state on Tuesday announced that in recent days it has filed indictments against three east Jerusalem men and three east Jerusalem minors for various crimes related to the recent rioting and unrest.

The three men, Mahmoud Sarha, Mohammed Sarha and Hamza Halaf, ages 18, 21 and 24 respectively, were indicted in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court for allegedly attacking police with aggravating circumstances, frustrating police in their duties, and public disorder on October 18.

Leading into the closing of gates leading to the Temple Mount, the indictment said they struck police guarding the gates injuring six police with issues ranging from scratches and wounds on their faces, heads and hands to broken arms.

A separate indictment was filed with the Jerusalem Juvenile Court against one of the minors, age 14, for allegedly throwing several rocks at ongoing traffic on Uzi Narkis Street on October 22.

Also, the state filed an indictment with the same juvenile court against a minor, age 15, for alleged public disorder and shooting fireworks at police from a rooftop in Wadi Joz on October 23.

Yet another indictment was filed with the same court against a minor, age 17, for allegedly causing grievous bodily harm and public disorder while throwing Molotov cocktails at police at the Shuafat checkpoint on October 23.
