PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Pakistani intelligence officials on Monday said a suspected US missile strike has killed at least five people in a tribal region near the Afghan border. It was the second missile strike in roughly 24 hours. The first killed seven alleged militants. The two officials said four missiles hit a house late Monday in Spalga village in the North Waziristan tribal region. The strikes were the first since the arrest of a US citizen who shot two Pakistanis in late January. There had been speculation Washington had put a hold on the disputed tactic as it has pressured Pakistan to release the American, saying he has diplomatic immunity and acted in self-defense.
