Syrian refugee receives treatment in Israeli hospital

A Syrian refugee underwent surgery in an hospital near Safed on Monday evening, Ziv hospital reported Tuesday.The refugee arrived in Israel two days ago after IDF Chief Benny Gantz gave the green light to soldiers stationed on the border to help the injured man, the report said. The man was suffering from shrapnel and bullet wounds."During the night, we operated on the injured man for several hours into the early morning, during which the man was treated for an injury to his internal organs," head of the trauma unit, Dr. Amram Hedry said in the report. "Now he is in stable condition and recuperating (from the operation," he added.The man will be returned to Syria as soon as he is physically fit to be moved, as Gantz noted that Israel's borders have not changed, according to the report.
