Transportation Minister submits initiative for new Highway entrance into capital

Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz (Likud-Beytenu) on Monday submitted for government approval an initiative to add a Highway 16 entrance at the Western entrance of the capital.
According to Katz, the ministry initiated the plan as part of an ongoing effort to reduce traffic to and from the capital, reduce air pollution and improve overall driving safety and conditions. The highway is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 at a cost of approximately NIS 1.5 billion.
