"Those results are coming in, and it's very close. Look, our relationship is with Israel. We'll see what happens."

US President Donald Trump made a brief comment Wednesday about the Israeli elections deadlock, saying "our relationship is with Israel," as opposed to with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During a press gaggle in Los Angeles, the president was asked if he got a chance to speak with the prime minister.
"I have not," he said. "Those results are coming in, and it's very close. Look, our relationship is with Israel. We'll see what happens."
Earlier on Wednesday, Netanyahu announced that due to the political situation in Israel, he would cancel his planned trip to the United Nations General Assembly in New York next week.
Netanyahu was supposed to meet Trump and discuss, among other things, the idea of establishing a defense treaty between the two countries, an idea that Trump reveled last Saturday, three days ahead of Israel's elections.
It would be the first time since 2010 that Netanyahu will miss a chance to speak at the GA. In recent years, the Israeli prime minister used the UN stage to bring attention to Iranian aggression and Iranian proxies' terror activity.
Israeli media reported Wednesday that Netanyahu prefers to stay in Israel next week, when Israeli President Reuven Rivlin is expected to sign the mandate to form the next coalition, which will go either to Netanyahu or to Blue and White leader Benny Gantz.
