Twitter crashes worldwide, users report

The website downdetector.com reported that over 10,000 reports have been recorded for people experiencing trouble with Twitter.

Twitter seemed to be back up and running after users reported glitches around the world on Thursday.
"Miss us?" Twitter tweeted.

"The outage was due to an internal configuration change, which we're now fixing," the social media platform wrote. "Some people may be able to access Twitter again and we're working to make sure Twitter is available to everyone as quickly as possible."
Earlier, the platform wrote that "We are currently investigating issues people are having accessing Twitter. We will keep you updated on whats happening."
"Something is technically wrong," users who enter the popular social media website saw on their screen. "Thanks for noticing – we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon."
The website reported that over 10,000 reports have been recorded for people experiencing trouble with Twitter over the past hour.

The site's crash came as the White House is hosting a social media summit on Thursday.
In addition, UK Labour Party supporters were planning a "Twitter storm" for the same hour as the Twitter crash in support of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. The Labour party and Corbyn in particular have been accused of antisemitism on countless occasions.
