Two bombs kill at least 34 in Iraq's Kut, officials say

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb and a car bomb killed at least 34 people in Iraq's Kut city, police and local officials said on Monday.
The roadside bomb exploded in a public square in Kut, 150 kms southeast of Baghdad, and a car bomb detonated when security forces arrived on the scene, police said.
Khamis al-Saad, Iraq's deputy health minister, told Reuters 34 people were killed in Kut and 64 wounded.
"Hospitals are still receiving casualties, but the situation is under control," Saad said.
