Two suspects indicted for kidnapping, impersonating police

Two unidentified 20-year-old Jerusalem residents already in police custody were formally indicted Tuesday on charges including kidnapping, theft and impersonating a police officer.
While few details of the case have emerged, according to police last Sunday the suspects claimed to be officers and forced an elderly man whom they believed to be carrying thousands of shekels in a briefcase into a car and drove him to an undisclosed apartment where they proceeded to bound and rob him.
After freeing himself, the man described the vehicle and his abductors, who were apprehended in the capital hours later. Both suspects have remained in custody since their apprehension upon being remanded by a Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court judge.
