Unapproved food additives manufactured in Modi’in home seized

Large amounts of powders and liquids claimed to treat cataracts, coughs, urine and fungal infections and other medical problems were seized in a Modi’in home on Tuesday by inspectors from the Health Ministry’s enforcement and supervision branch and the Modi’in police.

It urged the public not to purchase unsupervised supplements sold via the Internet.Consuming such unapproved products may endanger health, the ministry said. In any case of the sale of counterfeit, damaged and unapproved products claimed to benefit health, call the ministry’s Kol Habriut phone line at *5400, write to modin@eliav.health.gov.il or call (02) 6551797.
