Woman lightly hurt after attempting suicide on wrong train track

A 56-year-old woman was lightly injured on Sunday morning after lying down on a train track ahead of an approaching train near Beit Yehoshua, in what she hoped would be her last act. Fate, however, would have it otherwise, as the train was traveling on the parallel rail. The Kiryat Ono resident sustained a minor head wound and fled the scene in her car with the startled train driver looking on. Police detained the woman, who explained that she recently lost her job in a travel agency, and had therefore decided to end her life. She was taken to Laniado Medical Center in Netanya for medical treatment.
