Worker killed, 2 hurt in J'lem construction site collapse

A building under construction in the Beit HaKerem neighborhood of Jerusalem collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, killing one worker and injuring two others.
The accident occurred on Moshe Kol Street around 2:00 pm as the workers were pouring concrete. Four fire crews, police, and Magen David Adom paramedics arrived on the scene and immediately evacuated two workers, who were lightly injured, to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.
Rescue workers determined that one worker was still missing and they brought in dogs from the West Bank Fire Department to try to locate the trapped worker. After three hours of digging through recently poured concrete they found the worker, who was trapped in the stairwell when the building collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police opened an investigation into the incident to determine the causes of the accident.
