The Population and Immigration Authority has announced a transition to discounted winter rates for passport issuance. The reduced fee will take effect on November 1, 2026, and will remain valid through February 28, 2027, for payments made online only.
Eligibility for the discounted payment is conditional upon completing the online processing during the four months of the campaign, while redemption of the benefit and visiting a bureau to actually have the document issued will be permitted until the end of April 2027. In addition, soldiers, reserve soldiers, and national service volunteers will be eligible for discounts in accordance with eligibility determinations made by the IDF or the National Service Authority, with the updated amount appearing at the time of payment.
The Population and Immigration Authority emphasizes that visiting the bureaus to issue passports and identity cards is contingent upon booking an appointment in advance via the Govisit app. The authority also notes that appointments can be scheduled directly for self-service kiosks, thereby saving time during the issuance process.
