Israeli food technology company Beyond Oil appointed Joe Colligan as CEO of its US subsidiary in late October, as the company looks to expand its commercial operations in the American foodservice market.
Colligan brings more than 30 years of commercial leadership experience at major global food companies. He spent approximately 15 years as vice president of sales at McCain Foods, the world's largest supplier of French fries and frozen fried appetizers, before most recently serving as senior vice president of sales and business development in the United States at OSI Group.
Colligan to lead Beyond Oil USA's expansion efforts
In his new role, Colligan will lead Beyond Oil USA's expansion efforts, focusing on large foodservice organizations, quick-service restaurant chains, retail chains, and other major operators.
Beyond Oil develops technology designed to reduce health risks associated with the repeated use of frying oil, while improving food quality, reducing waste, and promoting sustainability. Its technology is intended for use across hundreds of frying cycles and extended periods of continuous operation.
The Israeli company is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Its shares rose 21% over the month preceding the announcement.
