Around 20% of Israelis building private homes pay a heavy price for inexperience and mistakes made throughout the construction process, with professional estimates placing the unnecessary expenses at approximately NIS 6 billion. Around 11,000 private homes are built in Israel each year, with a total construction cost estimated at NIS 33 billion.
Zuri Dabush, chairman of Klil, recently launched the podcast Window on Life, which aims to help reduce unnecessary costs. The series, produced by Bar Gindy, combines professional knowledge and years of experience to create a practical guide for anyone dreaming of building a private home.
Building a home is filled with emotional, logistical and financial challenges, and many people embark on the process without any previous experience. The podcast aims to provide clarity and confidence to anyone planning to build or renovate their home. Dabush launched the initiative out of a desire to make professional knowledge accessible, helping reduce mistakes, save money and minimize uncertainty throughout the construction process.
Joining Dabush as the podcast’s host is Revital Reich, an expert in architectural planning and interior design. The podcast is the result of months of research, writing, recording and editing.
The series will include 12 episodes covering topics such as choosing land, selecting an architect, proper planning, budget management, working with contractors and professionals, and obtaining a Form 4 occupancy permit.
The podcast will also address the personal challenges involved in building a home, including conflicts between couples, the pressures that accompany the process, effective decision-making and the use of AI tools to assist with planning and decision-making.
