Tuesday, November 27 THE TEL Aviv Journalists Association in conjunction with the University of Haifa is hosting an international Journalists' Conference in Eilat over a three-day period with the participation of hundreds of journalists and people in the communications business from Israel and abroad. The conference will deal with issues such as the changing professional status of the journalist and the communicator. It will culminate with the traditional November 29 address by the Prime Minister. The forum is held in memory of David Bar-Illan, former Jerusalem Post editor-in-chief and communications director in the Prime Minister's Office. The one-day conference, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Raab Building, Lax Auditorium on the AUC campus, will bring together academics, journalists, media and public relations experts and government officials to discuss how events in Israel and the Middle East are covered by the media and the impact that news reporting has on Israeli, Arab and world public opinion. The keynote address will be delivered by Leonard Asper, president & CEO, CanWest Global Communications Corp. who will speak on Israel Beyond the Propaganda War.
