Comptroller probes alleged improper conduct in police appointments

The state comptroller is investigating whether the commissioning of officers in the Israel Police is being conducted improperly and not according to candidates' professional abilities, Army Radio reported Thursday.
Police said they were cooperating fully with the probe, which the comptroller's office stated would take many months to complete.
