600 N. American Jews arrive on Jewish Agency trip

600 young Jews arrived in Israel from North America on Monday and Tuesday as part of a trip organized by Masa, an element of the Jewish Agency for Israel. The trip was also sponsored by the Prime Minister's office. Mostly taking a gap-year from college, the youngsters will be in Israel for between five months and a year, and will participate in 140 different activities including learning in yeshivas and studying art. "The ideology behind Masa is to bring young people from all over the world to a really deep experience in Israel," said Alex Selsky, spokesperson for the Jewish Agency for Israel. "It is not just to come for 10 days as a tourist but to come and make Israel not another country on the map but an unbreakable part of the Jewish Identity in every young man or woman," continued Selsky.
