The Carmel Coast region continues to record a surge in tourism development: Alongside the expected opening this month of the Gordonia Hotel in Zichron Yaakov, another step in the construction wave in the area was recorded last week – with the laying of the cornerstone for the first boutique hotel in the artists’ village of Ein Hod.

The new hotel will be built on a hillside overlooking olive groves and the landscape between the mountain and the sea, and will be defined as a luxury boutique-wellness hotel. It will cover an area of approximately 25 dunams, include 50 guest rooms, and will be constructed with an estimated investment of about NIS 60M.

The project will be developed by D.N. Sons, which won a tender from the Israel Land Authority and The Tourism Ministry. The hotel in Ein Hod is part of a broader plan, including the establishment of six new hotels throughout the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council.

Tourism Connected to the Landscape and Local Identity

Asif Izak, head of the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council, said at the ceremony: "Today we are celebrating a new and unique hotel, which is part of a complete and comprehensive initiative. In recent years, the Carmel Coast has been promoting a broad economic infrastructure based on quality tourism, employment, and income-generating assets. Ein Hod is a cultural and tourism anchor, and this hotel strengthens the local economy and generates long-term revenue for the council."

The Tourism Ministry also sees the project as a significant component of regional development. Michael Itzhakov, CEO of The Tourism Ministry, noted: "The laying of the cornerstone for the hotel in Ein Hod reflects Minister Haim Katz’s policy to promote quality tourism, connected to the landscape, culture, and local identity, and generates economic and social value for the entire region."

According to him, this marks the beginning of a significant wave of tourism development on the Carmel Coast: "The Tourism Ministry will continue to encourage initiatives of this kind, which strengthen the periphery, create jobs, and place Israel on the map of international boutique and wellness tourism."
