Last year, the IDF began replacing the assigned cars of lieutenant colonels and senior sergeants.

SEAT Ibiza and Hyundai i20 models from 2020-2022 are returning to Eldan Leasing, which won the Defense Ministry tender to supply them. In their place, career officers receive various options: Skoda Fabia or Kia Stonic, Skoda Scala or Kamiq, and officers with large families can choose a 7-seater Opel Frontera, again supplied by Eldan alongside Pery.

Thousands of Ibiza models returned from the army to Eldan are sold starting at NIS 40,000, and i20 models starting at NIS 50,000 for 2020 models, both with a two-year warranty for the engine and gearbox, and one year for 10 additional components. Mileages vary, from 80,000 to 180,000 km.

Another option is car leasing, in a rare used-car market deal. The offer: NIS 1,200 per month, including insurance and maintenance, for 12 or 24 months, with the option to return the car after just six months.

However, the deal also includes a non-refundable down payment of NIS 5,900, and is limited to 20,000 km per year, with additional charges for exceeding this limit.
