The new AI-powered Siri is on the way: Apple is planning to present live demonstrations of the revamped Siri during the second half of February, as part of its collaboration with Google. The presentation is expected to illustrate what Siri will look like in the new era, after years of criticism over limited capabilities, inaccurate responses, and a noticeable gap compared to other smart assistants.

According to a report by Mark Gurman, a technology journalist closely connected to Apple, the new Siri will be based on Google’s Gemini model and will feature advanced conversational abilities, resembling an AI-powered chatbot more than a classic voice assistant.

According to the published details, the revamped Siri will be able to conduct more complex conversations, understand broader contexts, remember details mentioned earlier, and provide richer and more detailed responses. This represents a fundamental shift in Apple’s approach, as the company seeks to turn Siri into a truly intelligent and interactive tool, rather than merely an interface for executing basic commands.

According to the report, following the demonstrations in February, the new Siri is expected to be integrated into the iOS 26.4 update. This update is expected to enter the beta phase during February and be released to the general public in March or early April. At Apple, this update is seen as a central component of the Apple Intelligence strategy, the company’s broader artificial intelligence initiative.

The move comes after prolonged delays. Apple first presented its vision for the next generation of Siri at its developers conference in 2024, but since then the launch has been postponed several times. According to previous reports, the delays stemmed from a combination of technological challenges, concerns over privacy and data security, and deliberations over whether to rely on external AI models.

Now it appears that Apple has chosen a more pragmatic approach. The collaboration with Google, which in the past was considered almost unthinkable for the company, reflects an understanding that it is impossible to remain outside the race for generative artificial intelligence. Gemini, one of the most advanced AI models in the world, is expected to provide Siri with conversational and analytical capabilities far beyond those previously available to it.

According to Mark Gurman, the February presentation will not be the full unveiling. Apple is planning a broader event at its annual developers conference in the summer, where it will present the more mature version of the new Siri, currently known by the code name “Campus.” Only after that is the wide-scale integration of the new capabilities into Apple’s next operating systems expected to take place.

According to the report, the new Siri and Gemini-based Apple Intelligence capabilities will be integrated into the beta versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which are expected to be released during the summer. The full launch for users will arrive later in the year, following a testing period and feedback from developers.
