The hair styling products market has become especially crowded in recent years, with countless promises of speed, power, and hair protection. Therefore, when the DAFNI AirJet, the new hair dryer from the well-known Israeli brand, reached us, we approached it with quite a bit of skepticism. Another device that promises "salon results"? We have heard that before.
But from the very first use, it is hard to ignore that there is a real attempt here to think differently.
One of the standout things about the AirJet is the weight. This is an especially lightweight device, about 310 grams only, with a foldable handle that feels almost like a travel gadget rather than a professional hair dryer.
But here comes the twist: Despite the compact size, the performance does not feel "downsized". The airflow is strong and focused, and the drying itself is faster than expected from a device of this size. In our case, the drying time was noticeably shorter compared to a standard dryer.
Smarter than usual
The main feature of the device is SmartSense Heat Guard technology, which is based on sensors that regulate heat and airflow in real time.
In practice, this is mainly noticeable in the absence of a "burning" sensation or extreme heat on the hair, even when working for an extended period. Those who are used to feeling that their hair dries too quickly or becomes dry and stiff after using a dryer will feel a difference here.
The hair after drying looks softer, less frizzy, with relatively natural shine.
Three modes that really make a difference
The AirJet comes with three working modes, and this is not just a marketing gimmick:
- Gloss mode provides a smooth and shiny finish, especially suitable for straightening or finishing styling
- Scalp mode is gentler, and feels especially pleasant on the scalp
- Swing mode creates an oscillating airflow that adds natural movement to the hair
In actual testing, Swing mode was particularly surprising. It allows achieving a less "flat" and more lively result, without special effort.
Smart accessories and ease of use
The dryer comes with a narrow nozzle for precise styling and a wide diffuser for curls, with a magnetic and very quick connection between them.
This may sound like a small detail, but in practice it saves time and hassle, especially for those who switch between accessories during use.
The grip itself is also comfortable, and the fact that the device is relatively light makes it less tiring to use, especially when dealing with long or thick hair.
So does it really replace a salon?
Here it is important to be honest. No dryer truly replaces professional hands completely.
But, for home use, the AirJet manages to get closer than average to a polished, smooth, and neat result. For those who dry their hair regularly, this is a noticeable upgrade.
The device is based on a Brushless DC motor with a power of 1400 watts, which provides strong yet controlled airflow. According to the company, this is drying up to 3 times faster than regular dryers, while maintaining a stable temperature that reduces heat damage. The combination of power and control is what sets the device apart from more basic dryers.
The dryer will be especially suitable for those looking for: Faster routine drying, less heat damage to the hair, a lightweight and comfortable device, or a smooth and neat result without much effort. On the other hand, those looking for a cheap or basic solution will find cheaper options on the market.
Bottom line – DAFNI AirJet does not try to be just another regular hair dryer, but offers a combination of technology and ease of use. After testing, it can be said that this is a product that provides a good user experience, with a result that looks and feels higher quality than average. Does it change the rules of the game? Maybe not completely. But it definitely raises the bar.
