Phoenix and Shenkar announced the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement, under which a new external studies center and a multidisciplinary laboratory dedicated to development, research, and creative work will be established.
Under the agreement, Phoenix will support Shenkar’s academic activities, while the two organizations will develop joint initiatives combining engineering, design, art, and technology. The move is intended to create new learning environments that connect theoretical knowledge with real-world application.
As part of the collaboration, a multidisciplinary laboratory will be established at Phoenix’s “HaElef” complex, serving as a shared workspace for research and development. In addition, Shenkar is expected to launch new study programs focused on providing practical knowledge and expanding professional training opportunities.
According to the two parties, the initiative is already being implemented and aims to build a broad foundation for the advancement of engineering, design, and technology, while creating new educational tracks with an emphasis on applied knowledge and professional training.
The initiative reflects a broader trend of strengthening connections between academia and industry, as well as between the worlds of design and engineering - an approach Shenkar defines as the “Third Culture.” Within this framework, the college seeks to promote entrepreneurship education and provide skills relevant to the job market, based on the view that professional training is a key component of economic and social resilience.
Senior executives from both organizations attended the signing ceremony, including Phoenix CEO Eyal Ben Simon, Deputy CEO Amir Pushinsky, Shenkar President Prof. Sheizaf Rafaeli, and the institution’s CEO Yoni Even Tov.
