The Knesset Finance Committee on Sunday approved a NIS 260 million increase to the defense budget for home-front preparedness.
However, the committee refused to pass a second requested budget increase for NIS 124 million, stating that Finance Ministry representatives did not explain the reason for the additional funds.

This is not the first time that the Finance Committee has refused budget increases for the Defense Ministry due to inadequate information.
In January, the Finance Ministry asked the committee for a NIS 700 million to the defense budget, but did not elaborate the purpose of the funds.
The Defense Ministry gives details on the objective of the funds only to the Defense Budget Committee, which is a confidential committee.
