A group who arrived to the Auschwitz concentration and death camp memorial Friday afternoon caused a commotion when they slaughtered a sheep before undressing and chaining themselves together near the site's "Arbeit macht frei" sign, the memorials official twitter account stated on Friday.
Immediately following the incident museum security secured the area and police were called.
The museum was temporary closed down as police proceeded to investigate the incident.

"Using the symbol of Auschwitz to any kind of manifestations or happenings is outrageous and unacceptable," the museum said in an official statement.
"It is disrespectful to the memory of all the victims of the German Nazi Auchwitz concentration and extermination camp."
It is unknown what the activists were protesting.
