Spiritual rituals held by people seeking to pray in burial places among Middle Eastern Jews and Muslims are not a rare sight. On November 20, thousands of Jewish families from all over Iran convened in the central Iranian city of Yazd to perform a special pilgrimage.

The Jewish families gathered at the Molla Agha Baba Synagogue, to celebrate the unity and uniqueness of Jewishness, during which the former Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, suffered from institutional discrimination and lack of attention.

But in recent years, after the Hassan Rouhani election, Iranian Jews (who make up one of the biggest Jewish communities in the Middle East) like other religious minorities in Iran, are feeling better and relieved in public after years of exclusion.

The clear interest of Iran, while negotiating with the West and especially the United States government regarding its sanctions removal, is to show this kind of report.

Human and religious rights in Iran are one of the biggest issues which the United Nations and the West are concerned of.

After some blunt and harsh statements from the Iranian government in recent years, including former president Ahmadinejad, who spoke of "the Jewish holocaust legend and myth" and " Jewish world lobby", the English-language press in Iran reported this story of the Jewish pilgrimage, to highlight how the Iranian regime is treating Jews in Iran.
