Laurie Cardoza-Moore, president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN) called on the US Justice Department "to launch a full and thorough investigation" into Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) "possible connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Cardoza-Moore, an Evangelical leader who hosts the popular Christian television program Focus On Israel, which reaches nearly two billion viewers globally, said on Wednesday that “while she has already established her credentials as a vehement antisemite, Ilhan Omar is far worse than that."
"Omar may be in violation of a federal statute for fundraising for two Muslim Brotherhood charities that seek to destroy America," she claimed.
She made it clear "Omar’s antisemitic comments do not reflect the values of Americans,” adding that the people of America “demand that the Justice Department conduct a full and thorough investigation into her possible connections with the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates."
According to Cardoza-Moore, the recent revelation of Omar’s participation as a keynote speaker at events for Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups Islamic Relief USA and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) "suggests her support for subversive factions aligned to destroy America and Western civilization itself."
Last month, Omar keynoted an Islamic Relief USA emergency fundraising dinner for Yemen in Tampa, Florida, while later this month she will be a keynote speaker at a CAIR fundraiser in Los Angeles.
CAIR has been found to have ties with Muslim Brotherhood, as well as close ties to Hamas and Hezbollah.
In 2009, CAIR was listed as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the largest terrorist fundraising operation in the history of the United States, known as the Holy Land Foundation Trial.
During the trial, FBI investigators uncovered evidence establishing CAIR's place in the "Palestine Committee," which was a Muslim Brotherhood-created network aimed at helping Hamas in the United States, according to a report by the Investigative Project on Terrorism. In 2009, US District Court Judge Jorge Solis ruled that there is "at least a prima facie case as to CAIR's involvement in a conspiracy to support Hamas."
Moreover, the organization was officially designated a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates in 2014, placing it in the company of al-Qaeda, Islamic State and others.
Omar will be keynoting alongside Hassan Shibly, the executive director of CAIR-Florida, who is vehemently anti-Israel and said he believes that Hezbollah and Hamas are not terrorist organizations, and is known for openly discriminating against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Additionally, Cardoza-Moore also claimed that Islamic Relief USA "is an arm of the largest Muslim fundraising group globally, whose leaders have ties to terrorist groups."
According to a 36-page report from the Middle East Forum, the founder of Islamic Relief, Hany El-Banna, has been involved with several organizations with ties to Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, including once serving as the trustee of the Muslim aid charity which has funneled money to Hamas.
The Jewish Journal also reported that as a student, El-Banna was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood organization Federation of Student Islamic Societies. El-Banna has also praised the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan Al-Bana for being "held in so much awe and respect."
Meanwhile, Cardoza-Moore also launched a nationwide campaign and petition demanding Omar’s dismissal from Congress.
“American patriots have signed our petition in the tens of thousands,” she said. “We won’t stop our national campaign until Ilhan Omar is fully investigated and justice is served.
"How can a representative of the United States raise money for terrorist groups that seek our demise and equally serve on the House Foreign Relations Committee, or for that matter, as a member of Congress?” she questioned.
Last month, Cardoza-Moore accused Omar of being a “Hamas plant” in Congress.
