Orthodox Jews in Boro Park vs. Linda Sarsour: 'There is no Palestine'

The protest was organized by Linda Sarsour. The counter-protest was organized by Dov Hikind.

A handful of protestors and 200 counter-protestors attended a rally outside New York City Councilman Kalman Yeger’s office in Boro Park on Thursday, according to media reports. The protest was held in response to a tweet Yeger posted Wednesday: “There is no Palestine.” The counter-protest defended his statements.

The protest was organized by Linda Sarsour, co-chair of the 2019 Women’s’ March and the daughter of Palestinian-Arab immigrants. The counter-protest was organized by Dov Hikind, a former New York Assemblyman. It was comprised of mostly Orthodox Jews. 
The counter-protestors outnumbered the other group 10 to one.
Yeger was not in his office during the protest. He told the media that he would not apologize for his tweet, as he does not believe he did anything wrong.
“I never referred to Palestinian people,” he told the Jewish Press. “My reference was a to a geographic reality - an international, legal reality. There is no entity by that name [Palestine]. That’s a fact.”
In his tweet, he also noted that Congresswoman Linda Omar "is an antisemite."
