American soul legend Aretha Franklin is “gravely ill” and her family members have gathered to say their goodbyes, according to online reports.The 76-year-old “Queen of Soul” was reported to be at her home in Detroit and family members were called to say their goodbyes, the Showbiz 411 site reported.Franklin last performed onstage in November at an Elton John AIDS Foundation party in New York, and her last public concert took place a year ago in Philadelphia, where she reportedly battled exhaustion and dehydration to finish the show. She has battled ill health for a number of years.Two of her signature songs are “Respect” and Carole King’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman,” which was the sensational performance at King’s 2015 Kennedy Center Honor performance. Franklin spent decades as the premier soul and R&B torchbearer.
