World's largest Jewish education network receives Let Freedom Ring Award

The world's largest Jewish education organization,  World Ort, received the Let Freedom Ring Award on Wednesday. The award was presented by Reverend Jesse Jackson, via The Rainbow PUSH Coalition (RPC).
Ort was honored with the award because of, "our commitment to equality in education and our efforts to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity," World Ort reported.
In a letter, World ORT President Conrad Giles announced the award to World ORT Director General and CEO Avi Ganon.
“For decades now, World ORT has been an unmistakable knowledge-based economy that prioritizes intellectual capital in all aspects of life and society," Giles  said.  “Besides, there are clear indications that the future belongs to those who not only possess the right kind of intellectual capital but also invest it wisely in providing cost-effective and accessible solutions to various socio-economic and political challenges in society.
World Ort is a nonprofit with the goal of advancing education through training for both Jewish and non-Jewish people. The Ort network operate in 37 countries and helps some 300 000 students around the world.
RPC's mission is to protect civil rights with a focus on leveling the educational playing field and promoting peace and justice. 
The organization was founded by Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. in December 1996.
