Knesset speaker says ready to host Pope Francis as personal guest; thanks Catholic leader for fighting anti-Semitism, hatred.

Pope Francis hopes to visit Israel and the Knesset, as he told Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein in the Vatican Wednesday.Edelstein told Pope Francis he'd love to see him visit the Holy Land soon and that he would be the Speaker's personal guest in the Knesset."I'll come, I'll come," Pope Francis responded.Edelstein also thanked Pope Francis for fighting anti-Semitism and hatred, and asked him to use his position to continue working to eradicate anti-Semitism not only among Catholics but among all people.The Knesset Speaker visited the Vatican as part of his trip to Rome, in which he met with his Italian counterparts Italian Senate President Pietro Grasso and Italian Chamber of Deputies President Laura Boldrini, as well as Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino.Edelstein discussed peace talks and the Iranian nuclear threat with the Italian officials.
