TODAY'S HOT POTATO:Taken from article:Iranian Jewish leader questions aliyaTalkback #: 5 + 39
Talkbacker: Mike, Germany and Slibovitz
Text: Mike: Apparently, Zionism and Evangelism [who helped fund the aliya from Iran] are succeeding where millenniums of anti-Semitism failed - The end of the ancient Judean communities of the Mid-East. The ideology devours it's own children.
Slibovitz: The Iranian Jews who made aliyah are seeking a better, free life. This is understandable. We should not celebrate the dismantling of any Jewish community anywhere, however. Those Jews who stay behind can be a vital link to Israel once the Mullahs are overthrown. It is sad to see a millennium old community emptying out.
